1,200 Riders Tackled the Propera Gran Fondo out of Fort Langley

The Fraser Valley, long known as the road cycling mecca of British Columbia hosted routes of 50, 88 and 160km. The 160km (100miles) route tookcyclists from Fort Langley south through Langley’s country roads, along the Sumas Prairie, up and over Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford and back to Fort Langley along the Matsqui flats and through Glen Valley along the Fraser River. The event was timed and also had a separate challenge of Thule Hill KOM/QOM.

Graig Ritchie was the fastest up the climb in a time of 5m 01s, the average time being around 9 minutes. Morgan Cabot for the women cracked the climb in 6m 01s

Both of these riders, riding the 160km Gran Fondo went on to finish quickest, with Craig Ritchey storming home in a time of 4h 10m and Margon Cabot smashing the course in an amazing time of 4h 18m for the women.

In the 88 km Medio Fondo, Dave McDonald was first back wheras Jennifer Lam and and Margaret Wittgens finished together.

In the 50km Presto Fondo, Paul McGowan was first home along with Angela Law.
