Zakarin Denied Uphill Stage as Quintana moves into Overall Lead

Nairo Quintana (Movistar) took stage 2 of the Tour de Romandie after Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha) was denied the win after boxing in Quintana in the sprint. Zakarin was stopped short of taking to the podium when the result was reversed.

Quintana had been the first to to strike out with around 6.5 kilometres to the finish. A little over a kilometre later, Zakarin had bridged the gap to Qiuntana. They maintained a slim lead as Quintana led them over the top of the climb of the Pas de Morgins.
