Kinesis Bikes' Aggregate 100 ride over the weekend of August 6th and 7th includes four timed sections - as well as a pre-ride party.

It’s difficult to find events in the UK that feature much gravel: they tend to either keep you on-road or descend into mud. But Kinesis has scouted out the best gravel roads in North Yorkshire for its inaugural Aggregate 100 ride, which takes place over the weekend of August 6th and 7th.

Kinesis says it likes to think of it as a less serious, longer version of a cross bike ride with a few hard fast sections thrown in for good measure.

The weekend start off on Saturday with “The Dog Show” – no dogs involved – a chance to show off your steed for the weekend and maybe win a rosette. That’s followed by beer, food and entertainment, followed by camping overnight at the venue at The New Inn in Cropton.

Don’t burn too much of both ends of the candle though, as hostilities start in earnest on the Sunday. There are four timed race sections on the route, which includes some high moors riding, a disused railway line and a stint in Cropton Forest.

There was a smaller trial ride last year and the photos are from that event.

Open to solo riders and pairs, the route can be ridden on flat bar mountain bikes as well as dropped bar gravel bikes.

Solo entries cost £50 while it’s £100 for a pair. There are more details and an entry form at www.aggregate100k.uk.
