Rollfast Gran Fondo Hangover

Another Sub 4 century course record set. Over $2,000 dollars raised for Rollfast Scolarships. 2017 date confirmed.

It's taken a week for the Rollfast team to unwind, recover and reflect on another amazing year. The Rollfast Gran Fondo is Indiana's first and only Gran Fondo and one of the fastest century rides in the country, with riders travelling from all over the U.S. and abroad to take part. It sold out in advance limited to 500 riders.

Another Course Record Set

The fastest 100 mile Fondo in the country keeps getting faster. This year the first group of 11 riders rolled in an amazing time 3h 51m 4 seconds.

The recent Rollfast Gran Fondo was led out by Tour de France and former Discovery rider Tom Danielson along with legendary 7-11 rider Bob Roll for a Sub-Four hour effort.

31 riders finished in the Sub4 Club including founder Matt Tanner, Cinch Cycling's Tom Danielson and the legend that is Bob Roll.

The Gran Fondo was paced for the entire ride by the B.O.M.B Motorcycle club. A dozen sweet, custom and very loud Harley bikes lighting it up to ensure the lead two groups had the road, stopping traffic, for ALL 100 miles ...

Riding along up front were teams like Zipp, TOAD cycling, Team Phoenix, Heros, Team Nebo Ridge to name a few. Watch the video below.

$2000 Raised for Rollfast Scholarships

As part of its fundraising activities, Rollfast hosts it's annual Gran Fondo cycling event.

This year Rollfast have been able to set aside $2000 in the Rollfast Scholarship fund. If you know a youth that is in need of equipment, training, coaching, clothing or any other costs associated with getting into the sport of cycling, please have them submit the Scholarship Application.

This year Rollfast sponsored Carmel native Jacob Hoggard who began his career riding for the Rollfast Cycling Club and races for First Internet Bank. The contribution Rollfast teammates made to his training and ability to compete at this level are undeniable. The Rollfast Cycling Club has trained with World Tour cyclists such as George Hincapie, Tom Danielson at Cinch Cycling, Christian Vande Velde, and others. Jacob was able to race in the Tour de l’Abitibi Desjardins in July in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada. His debut in Abitibi put an international spotlight on his talent and the larger pool of world class cyclists living and training in Indiana.

Comprised of seven stages, Abitibi is the only North American stop on the prestigious UCI Juniors Nations cup circuit. 

Rollfast also made an introduction of a lifetime to pro cyclist Tom Danielson (aka Tommy D) for local junior cyclist Spencer Miller. Spencer Miller is a Zionsville Indiana youth that is hooked on cycling. He’s determined and his dream is to make it to the pro level.

Registration for 2017 isn't available just yet, so please keep an eye out as we confirm details of next year's event. 

The Rollfast Gran Fondo has three ride options to suit all skill levels and features a Start/Finish venue at the beautiful Carmel City Center, home of Trek "Legend" dealer, The Bike Line. Approximately 25, 60 and 100 mile options will suit riders of all abilities. Finish and celebrate at the Fondo Festival afterwards.

Tip: Be advised that once details are confirmed, it will be a must to enter early, as places are highly sought after and the event will sell out well in advance.

Rollfast are already planning some great additions for next year's 5th Annual Rollfast Gran Fondo!
