Marin County Cyclist Plunges Into Deep Ravine

Cyclist had to be rescued by Emergency Crews after plunging off a ravine last Saturday morning, north of San Francisco

The 60-year-old cyclist was cycling very slowly uphill, trying to clip into his pedals after stopping, but he couldn't clip in and tipped over a steep drop.

Jeremy Pierce, battalion chief with the Marin County Fire Department said the man tumbled off the road, while his cycle stayed where it was in the road.

Another cyclist heard the man calling for help and contacted the emergency services.

Emergency Crews from the Skywalker Ranch, Marinwood and Marin County fire departments used a rope to get the man to safety.

The 60 year old man suffered a broken bone and cuts and bruises and was severely shocked by the incident.
