BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team had their first ever-official press conference in Croatia

Thursday 27th October 2016 - On Wednesday 26th of October in the early evening at Valamar Diamant Hotel in Porec, County of Istria in Croatia was hosting the first official press conference of BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team, which was a part of their first Training camp.

“For me, I can honestly say that it’s a proud moment for us to be sitting here for the first training camp. What we had put together in the last few months has been incredible. It’s a huge proud moment for us”, said Brent Copeland, General Manager of BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team. He added his appreciation to the title co-sponsor. “With Bahrain’s support, we are able to put this team together, and Merida made a great bicycles that anyone or any cyclist wished for.“

Brent Copeland proudly announced the philosophy of promoting Kingdom of Bahrain and its tourism development based on the mutual trust between the team and the sponsors, while Alex Carera, Marketing Manager of BMPCT, introduced the marketing hospitality during the races and the presentation of the Technical Sponsors. Gorazd Štangelj, Head Sport Director of the team explained how will the groups in the team be formed and introduced goals for the new season, mentioned attendance of the team at all race in the Middle East and introduced the team roster for 2017 as one of the most competitive roster.

There are 21 riders presented at the press conference, including Ion Izaguirre, Sonny Colbrelli, Valerio Agnoli, Manuele Boaro, Niccolò Bonifazio, Borut Božic, Grega Bole, Ivan Garcia Cortina, Enrico Gasparotto, Heinrich Haussler, Jon Ander Insausti, Javier Moreno, Ramunas Navardauskas, Antonio Nibali, Vincenzo Nibali, Domen Novak, Ondrej Cink, David Per, Kanstantsin Siutsov, Giovanni Visconti and Joaquim Rodríguez.

Also, riders who were not presented but they are part of the team are Yukiya Arashiro, Chun Kai Feng, Grmay Tsgabu, and Luka Pibernik they will be in the 2nd training camp in December to make the roster complete.

Merida, as the co-title sponsor, brought the new bikes of BMPCT. Coming from the R&D center in Germany, general manager of Merida Europe Andreas Rottler and chief R&D engineer Jürgen Falke firstly presented their team version bikes, including the Aerodynamic Reacto, lightweight Scultura and time trial weapon Warp TT for the new season, with brand-new graphics symbolizing Kingdom of Bahrain and the team and its spirit, became another surprise in the press conference.

Merida, as the co-title sponsor, brought the new bikes of BMPCT. Coming from the R&D center in Germany.
