Toms Skujins finds mechanical Doping conspiracy at the Tour hilarious
When Toms Skujins saw a video clip circulating on social media accusing him of riding with an hidden motor, he just laughed
“It was hilarious. I wasn’t worried” Skujins said.
Skujins laughter turned to disbelief that yet again the only conclusion that a lot of people can make is that somebody is doping again.
The video clip emerged after from Tour de France stage 8 from Dreux to Amiens. Skujins was in the thick of a massive crash that tooks down lots favorites including Dan Martin (UAE Team Emirates) and Tony Martin (Katusha).
Unfortunately, TV cameras caught Skujins getting back and going, half on camera and half not.
The crucial part missing was Skujins bending down and turning his cranks to get his chain back on.
In the video it looks as if Skujins wheel has a mind of it's own and is spinning uncontrollably until he puts on the ground.
The internet wents knuts, “Care to explain this?” rand “Toms Skujins mechanical Doping in TDF2018????! Check it out!”
After he crashed, Skujins chain came off of his front chainring. He placed the chain back on the cog and then spun the cranks to get the bike into gear.
A video, posted by Velon, appears to validate Skujins’s description of the ordeal. That video was shot by a camera mounted to the saddle of Timo Roosen’s (LottoNL-Jumbo) bicycle. In the video, Skujins can be seen adjusting his chain before elevating his bicycle, turning the cranks, and spinning his rear wheel.
