Register for the Ride for Ray Gran Fondo
The Ride for Ray Gran Fondo on June 22 2019 in Savoy, Illinois has something for everyone
The Midwest Cycle Club has teamed up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and the Savoy Rec Center to bring you the third annual ALS charity bike event.
There are four routes for all abilities of cyclists; 15, 30, 62 and 124 miles. The 62 and124 mile routes will be timed for those riders looking to challenge themselves for a new PR.
Trophies will be awarded for the overall fastest 62 and 124 mile riders in both men and women’s categories. There will also be age group awards for both men and women.
Each route will be primarily flat with a few small hills and low traffic. We will have traffic control for the lead group of riders and a police escort for the mass start event. The routes will be marked with signs.
Riders will benefit from Neutral Cycle mechanics at the check-in and there will be a rolling SAG truck with water, cold towels and snacks.
Aid stations will include cold water, cookies, chips, bars, pickles and fruit. If you have specific nutritional requirements, please plan on bringing your own items.
There will also be a free kid friendly family fun ride. This ride will be about 2 miles long on a bike path, and there will also be a bike safety course for the kids. We have a limited number of helmets for kids ages 3-14 who might need a new one.
The Ride for Ray mission has always been to first and foremost raise money and awareness for ALS.
Included in your entry fee is a t-shirt and a donation to the MDA. All additional donations will go to the MDA in honor of Ray Spooner.
If you're coming from out of town and looking for a good night’s rest before the ride, then book your stay at the Best Western with our special group rate.
