Inaugural Asheville Farm to Fork Fondo Proves Very Popular

More than 500 riders took part in Farm to Fork Fondo’s new event in Asheville, NC last starting at  Hickory Nut Gap Farm in Fairview

The iconic farmland allowed Wrenegade sports to showcase a diverse mix of farms, unique farm-to-table fare, and tight-knit rural communities, with its mission to motivate the cycling community across the country to support their local farms.

More than 500 riders took part in Farm to Fork Fondo’s new event in Asheville, NC last starting at Hickory Nut Gap Farm in Fairview

The start was at the 90 acre Hickory Nut Gap Farm, a farm has been in the family for five generations and owner Jamie and Amy Ager have been raising beef cattle, pigs, poultry, and apples at Hickory Nut Gap for nearly 20 years. Hickory Nut Gap Farm is more than a collection of pastures, it’s a gathering place for neighbors, visitors, and families to get a firsthand view of a local food system and the animals they raise.

Participants got to meet some of the animals whilst enjoying the gourmet food stops at Farms along the way.

The ride included gourmet aid stations at several farms along route, where cyclists sampled chef-prepared food made from each farm’s ingredients.
