New Course records set at Kettle Mettle Gravel Fondo in British Columbia

50km Medio Fondo Results

54.8 kms and 442 meters of elevation gain.

Men's Race
New Course record of 2:00:52 set by Alex Fotopoulos of Calgary, AB he was also the winner for the second straight year. Second and third place respectively was John Woolgar from Delta and Jeff Davidson from Vancouver. The previous record by Alex Fotopoulos in 2018 was with a time of 2:15:40 so over 14:59 mins of an improvement! A fairly close race for the top 2 for most of it as John was only a few minuted behind. The first four finishers all went under the previous course record time. Congrats to all the men who took part!

Women's Race Another Course Record
Sandy Gregorak, Hailey, ID handedly won the women's race in race record time she also finished fourth overall in 2:13:22. The previous record was by Pam Meers with a time of 2:25:29 so an improvement of 12:07. Janet Laluk was second and third was Christina Stevenson from Kamloops.
Congrats to all the women who took part!

Men's Race
New Course record of 3:11:52 set by Matthew Van Nostrand from Kelowna BC and 2nd and 3rd place respectively was Jon Bula and Nic Tickner from Bicicletta, Vancouver both with the same time of 3:15:18. The previous record by Brian Andersen in 2018 was with a time of 3:25:32 so over 14 mins of an improvement! A fairly close race for the top 2 for most of it as Nic was close to Mathew until he suffered a tire that kept deflating and he had to stop to refill it a few times.. The first four finishers all went under the previous course record time.  Congrats to all the men who took part!

Women's Race Another Course Record
Suzie Brown from Bellingham handedly won the women's race in race record time she also finished eighth overall in 3:38:58. The previous record was by Kendra Ferguson with a time of 7:04:26 so an improvement of over a half an hour 33:48. Meredith Anderson was second and third was Sherri Tongue from Port Moody.

The largest Field ever assembled for the Full Fondo Plus Course that was 138.2 kms and 1,794 metres of elevation gain

Men's Race
New Course record of 4:54:35 set by Nick Geddes! The previous record by Brian Andersen in 2018 was with a time of 5:28:32 so over half an hour and an improvement of 32:57! A fairly close race as Nick was just a over a minute ahead of 2nd and 3rd place overall.  The first seven finishers all went under the previous course record time.

Women's Race
Please Note Rachel McBride handedly won the women's race in race record time she also finished second overall! 4:55:49 which was just over a minute off the lead male. The previous record was by Kendra Ferguson with a time of 7:04:26
so an improvement of 2:08:37. In fact all top 3 women were well under the previous course records. Congrats to all the women who took part!
