UCI releases 2021 World Tour Calendar as Tour de France moved due to Olympics

UCI release a more traditional calendar after the turmoil Coronavirus afflicted on cycling in 2020

The UCI 2021 calendar has moved the Tour de France to cater for the postponed Tokyo Olympics, the Games were instead until 2021, running from July 23 to August 8 with the road races taking place on July 24, 25 and 28. This initially caused a clash with the planned dates for the 2021 Tour de France on July 2-25, but the UCI has now shifted the Tour to finish on July 18, so riders finishing in Paris will have a week to travel to Japan for the Olympics.

Paris-Roubaix will return for a second edition at the Women’s WorldTour.

The Vuelta a España is to be held a week earlier, to leave more time between the European Championships in September and the World Championships.
