Haute Route 2021 Registration Opens Today

AUSANNE, SWITZERLAND - Haute Route has revealed a bumper calendar for the 2021 season, with a host of new features to make the famed cycling events more personalised than ever before, plus a special 10th anniversary edition of the toughest amateur cycling race in the world.

2021 will see four different formats for the Haute Route events with the addition of the 5-Day format. Joining Compact, 3-Day, and 7-Day events on the calendar, the 5-Day format is designed to give riders an immersive experience, riding point-to-point through the world’s best cycling destinations. Adapted to the Dolomites and Pyrenees events in 2021, the 5-day format is a game changer for cyclists looking for the adventure of a lifetime.

Also new in 2021 will be the introduction of price phases to the registration process. Prices will be lowest for early bird registrations and gradually increase as the 2021 season grows nearer, giving riders the chance to economise their Haute Route entries.

Perhaps the biggest news for the 2021 calendar reveal is the announcement of a special 10th anniversary edition of the Haute Route Alps. The toughest amateur cycling race in the world and the holy grail of the sportive world, the Haute Route Alps is the event that started it all for Haute Route and the one that continues to push riders every year to reach new heights. Celebrating the event’s 10th edition in 2021, Haute Route has promised to deliver the best edition to date, with the highest elevation, the steepest climbs and the longest stages. The Swiss company plans to deliver a host of surprises in the lead up to the event, starting with a new logo to celebrate the crown jewel in the Haute Route season.

The new calendar brings together many of the legendary Haute Route destinations, with some exciting twists.

Following on from it’s record-breaking debut last year, Haute Route is kicking off the season in Zwift’s virtual wonderland, Watopia, in February with a three-day online epic.

In March, the event heads to the iconic Brazilian highlands to take on the beautiful Serra do Rio do Rastro climb.

Crans-Montana hosts it’s inaugural Haute Route in June, with a breathtaking course in the Swiss Alps.

Haute Route’s first five-day event will follow in July with a mesmerising traverse across the Pyrenees from the rolling hills of Girona to Pau in France.

The 10th anniversary edition of the Haute Route Alps will take place from 22-28 August, ahead of another five-day adventure across the best of the Dolomites.

The Haute Route takes on the heights of legendary Ventoux at the beginning of October, followed by a winter escape in Oman around the historic town of Nizwa and some of the country’s highest peaks, before finishing the season on Mexico’s winding climbs.

With new features, new routes and a very special edition of the legendary Haute Route Alps, the 2021 Haute Route season will be one to remember.
