Texas is a big state and has a huge wealth of great places to cycle state wide. It boasts a huge number of road cycling events, cycling organisations and advocacy groups and has a well documented cycling history.

Fredericksburg and the Hill Country are often reffered to as the Cycling Capital of Texas. A road cyclists dream, the Texas Hill Country offers many miles of quiet hilly roads, substantially great weather; and friendly towns. The central location of the Texas Hill Country makes it easily accessible for cyclists all over the state.

The city of Austin is regulary voted in the Top Ten Best Cycling Friendly Cities in the US by Bicycling Magazine.

Texas has a huge community of road cyclists and is ranked 4th most popular state in terms of visitors on Century Ride Guide.

As well as it's own Gran Fondo, Texas has a huge number of Century Rides, Tours and Ultra Distance, Leisure and Racing events and even more Charity Rides - which there are literally dozens taking place from month to month!

We are now starting rate event in terms of difficulty in order to help guide cyclists determine how tough the events are:

  • A - Basically flat, no steep hills
  • B - Gently rolling terrain with one or two short hills
  • C - Moderate terrain with rolling short steep hills or moderate, sustained climbs
  • D - Difficult terrain with longer, steeper hills
  • E - Extreme terrain with frequent steep hills and long sustained climbs
  • F - Ultra Distance and Climbing for events over 100+ miles

Please note that are difficulty rating is currently in Beta testing and may change, but is a good guide on the difficulty of the longest route that is available.
