Tour of Cambridgeshire launches Team Chrono team time trial event for 2017
Closed road four rider team time trial on Saturday 3rd June 2017
London, Thursday 11th November 2016 - The Tour of Cambridgeshire Team Chrono is a four rider team trial which will be held on closed roads at the 2017 Tour of Cambridgeshire. The event will be run after the individual Chrono on Saturday 3rd June over the same 26.55km route as the individual event. The Team Chrono has 100 start places available for teams competing in four classifications:
Male
Female
Mixed
Corporate
Riders will have to use standard road bikes with standard road helmets. Race Director Rowland Summerlin states: “the importance of this, in year one of this new event, is to assure safety and to level the playing field across the classifications.”
Teams will get the opportunity to warm up together in the warm up area next to the time trial start ramp. Over 60 turbo trainers will be provided by the organisers and Rutland Cycling, retail partner of the ToC. The start will be highly produced as is the hallmark of Golazo Cycling events and teams will start off the start ramp at one minute intervals.
Tom Caldwell, CEO of Golazo Cycling Limited, is glad to introduce this new event to the ToC; “We see this new event at the Tour of Cambridgeshire as the first step towards the UK having an event to exceed the Duo Normand the famous late season two up time trial in France which many British riders go over for. A key difference for the Tour of Cambridgeshire Team Chrono, besides the obvious number of riders in each team, is that in Cambridgeshire the roads will be closed.”
The price per team is £120 and pre-registration for teams to compete in the ToC Team Chrono opens on 14th November. The pre-registration page can be found on the Tour of Cambridgeshire.
