Tuesday 26 April - The Tour de Romandie kicks off with a 5.12 kilometres prologue in Lausanne. The route is virtually flat..
Like clockwork, the Tour de Romandie opens with a prologue. Last year’s parcours was slightly shorter and finished on a punchy climb to the line. Rohan Dennis took the spoils and succeeded Jan Tratnik (2019), Michael Matthews (2018), Fabio Felline (2017), Ion Izagirre (2016), Michal Kwiatkowski (2014), Chris Froome (2013), Geraint Thomas (2012) and Jonathan Castroviejo (2011) as the winner of the Romandie prologue.
This time, the route is flat and fairly straightforward. So high speeds are to be expected.
The Tour de France will visit Lausanne next July. On Saturday the 9th we’ll see a finale for the likes of Mathieu van der Poel. The finish of stage 8 is situated just after a 1 kilometre climb at 9.5%.
The prologue starts at 15.00 and the last rider is expected to finish around 17.32- both are locale times (CEST).
