Chris Froome seals his fourth Tour de France Victory
Maciej Bodnar wins final Time Trial as Chris Froome retains the Yellow Jersey to secure his fourth Tour de France title
Maciej Bodnar won the second time trial of the Tour de France. The Bora-hansgrohe rider finished the course in 28 minutes and 15 seconds.
Chris Froome (Team Sky) was 6 seconds slower and retained the yellow jersey in the overall general classification.
Starting and finishing in the Marseille Velodrome, it was Bora-hansgrohe's Maciej Bodnar set the fastest time at 28.15 early on.
Favorite Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin) didn't have the strength left after 3 weeks of racing to go faster.
Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo) had a mechanical problem and had to change bikes. Michal Kwiatkowski (Sky) just missed Bodnar's time by one second to finish second in the ITT.
Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale) lost the most in the final time trial, he just managed to hang onto a third place on the podium by one second in front of fourth placed Mikel Landa (Team Sky).
Fabio Aru who struggled on some of the mountain stages came fith overall with Dan Martin, Simon Yates, Louis Meintjes, Alberto Contador and Warren Barguil rounded off the Top Ten riders respectively.
Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac) came seventh time in the Time Trial to climbed to second position in the General Classification ahead of Bardet.
Chris Froome (Sky) was third just 6 seconds behind Bodnar, firmly securing his fourth Tour de France title, ahead of the Champs-Elysees stage.
Adam Yates secured the White young riders jersey, and Micheal Mathews has won the Green points jersey.
Frenchman Warren Barguil secured the Polka Dot climbers jersey with his impressive wins on Bastille day and on the Col d'Izoard, he also came 10th overall too.
The race heads for the Champs-Elysées tomorrow where the Sprinters will have their last chance to win a stage, in Paris.
Froome said "Just an amazing feeling. Absolutely an amazing feeling. Obviously it was so close coming into this time trial. It was basically all still to race for out on the road today so I'm just blown away. I just spoke to my wife, she's just headed off the Paris with my son, I can't wait to get there tomorrow"
