Lars Boom fined for 1,000 Swiss Francs Badass celebration
Lotto-Jumbo rider, Lars Boom, was fined 1,000 Swiss Francs for the badass victory celebration after winning Stage 5 of the BinckBank Tour on Friday
The Dutch rider attacked the leading group, which included Peter Sagan and Greg van Avermaet, with just a couple of kilometres to go and never looked back.
The gesture used is called the “Bras d’Honneur” or the “Italian Slap” and apparently has the same meaning as “giving the finger”, basically, “Up yours!”

The incident reminded us of other badass victory celebrations, like this one from Mark Cavendish at the 2010 Tour de Romandie, who was fined 6,000 Swiss Francs.
Unfortunatley Mark Cavendish was thrown out off the race by his own team for lack of professionalism. Bummer!
