CINCH Cycling Team to tackle Golden Gran Fondo!

CINCH Coaching is excited to announce that they will be competing in the Golden Gran Fondo, one of the USA's toughest

The Gran Fondo concept provides a competitive venue for CINCH's athletes because it is part of the Giordana Gran Fondo National Championship series.  This concept aligns with CINCH’s core community values as all age categories, genders, and experience levels will be able to work together for a common cause. CINCH is built on the belief that age, gender, and fitness should not be viewed as barriers in cycling improvement.

The Golden Gran Fondo has 4 timed sections in the Gran route. The athletes with the lowest combined times will place in the overall awards. The CINCH team will have leaders and domestiques who will work together in each timed segment as well as help each other get around the course as efficiently as possible. CINCH's athletes will have to strategize and execute the best way to get their protected riders through the course using their 10 CINCH performance zones.

CINCH athletes from all over the country are flying in to participate with the local riders in this event. This course goes well beyond just fitness, with varying terrain such as hard packed dirt, technical descents, and over 12,000 feet of high altitude climbing. The athletes will utilize their CINCH techniques in hopes of executing in the same manner as a Tour de France team. Some segments will require the athletes to set tempo on the front to protect the general classification riders while other sections will require a team time trial approach.

The athletes range in skill, fitness, and experience and will take a calculated approach going into the event. Riders will work for one another based off of their individual strengths. Certain riders will be protected while others will serve as domestiques to help one another get the entire team across the finish line.

The Golden Gran Fondo has a team award, the Fastest Four person team can win a prize of $500!

Lookout Mountain - YES IT’S BACK!

Golden’s Iconic climb is back for the 2017 edition of the Golden Gran Fondo. This is a four and a half mile climb with nearly 1,200 feet of climbing that hairpins past Mount Zion and Windy park Saddle and is a brute of a climb, which starts as you leave Golden.

Surprise, surprise, it's Phil Gaimon, star of the series Worst Retirement Ever that holds the KOM set in June this year in a time of 16m 16 secs. For the ladies, it's Anne Toth who rides for Groove Subaru Excel Sports from Golden who holds the QOM in a time of 19m 57 secs, she set this time on the Mines Time Trial in March last year.

Sunday September 17th - Gran Fondo Maryland, National Championship, Frederick, MD

The Gran Fondo National Championship in historic Frederick, Maryland is your opportunity to earn the title of fastest rider. The rider with the fastest combined time through each designated sections will have truly earned the 2017 National Championship Jersey.

All GFNCS events riders benefit from fully stocked aid stations and SAG support to keep them going and a Post-Race Food & Beverage Festival for a fun recovery.
