Marczynski wins stage 12 as Froome Crashes Twice
Dramatic scenes as Contador attacks Froome who crashes twice chasing back
Tomasz Marczynski (Lotto Soudal) claimed his second win of the Vuelta a Espana on stage 12, soloing away from his breakaway companions into Antequera.
The 33-year-old, who also won stage 6, attacked on the final climb on Thursday’s stage and held off his breakaway companions.
Alberto Contador attacked the main peloton and Chris Froome crashed twice chasing back on.
Froome retains a reduced lead of 59 seconds over Fabio Aru.
