2018 Look Marmotte Series Registration Opens November 6th
Registration for the SOLD OUT International series of Gran Fondo's opens November 6th. The series includes some of the toughest Gran Fondo's in the world, including the Look Marmotte Gran Fondo Alps, Pyrenees and a new Gran Fondo in the Swiss Alps, plus a rumoured "Super Gran Fondo " that tackles both the Col d'Izoard and Col du Galibier
Dates are already known for the three of the 2018 Look Marmotte Gran Fondo Series; the Look Marmotte Granfondo Alpes July 8th 2018, the Look Marmotte Granfondo Pyrenees August 26th and the new Look Marmotte Granfondo Valais August 11th.
Also rumoured, a new Super Gran Fondo that tackles the Col d'Izoard and Col du Galibier on June 23rd 2018.
The Look Marmotte Granfondo Alps 2018 is undoubtedly one of the most important challenges on the the European Gran Fondo calendar and taken place every year since 1982. The Look Marmotte Granfondo Alpes 2018 to be held on Sunday, July 8th. Departing in the town of Bourg d'Oisans with arrival at the top of Alpe d'Huez after conquering it's 21 hairpin bends, participants in this event will have to overcome the climbs of the Glandon, the Télégraphe and the Galibier. A total of 174 kilometers and more than 5,200 meters of climbing.
The price of registration is €105 which includes a finishers medal.
Please Note: From November 6th to 12th, only "PACKAGES" registrations are open. From November 13th, registrations will be open for all events.
In 2018 a new event is part of the Look Marmotte Granfondo Series in Switzerland.
The Look Marmotte Granfondo Valais, takes place on Saturday August 11th. Starting in the ski resort of Crans Montana and finishing in Verbier.
Mountains of more than 2,000 m high and beautiful landscapes await the participants in this event of 134 km and 4,500 m of climbing pasing through the Swiss Alps Valais region.
Registration costs 75 euros.
The Marmotte Granfondo Pyrénées, the third in the series has it all, a course of 163 kms over 6 legendary cols, known from the Vuelta Espana and the Tour de France, together climbing over 5,600 meters.
After departing Argeles Gazost the most iconic cols in the Pyrenees will be waiting for you, the Col du Tourmalet from Barèges (2115m), Hourquette d’Ancizan (1564m), Col d’Aspin (1489m), Col du Tourmalet (2115m) through Ste-Marie-de-Campan and La Mongie (1710m). The finish is located near the top in Luz-Ardiden (1666m).
The double ascent to the Tourmalet will be one of the great attractions of this event. The price per participant is €80 which includes a finishers medal.
TEntries for the Sportcommunication events open on Monday November 6th 2018, with series entry (more than one event) opening on Monday, November 13th. Some of the events, especially the Look Marmotte Gran Fondo Alps will sell out in a day, so you need to be ready for to enter early on the day.
