Kruijswijk to target Tour de France podium with Team LottoNL-Jumbo
Steven Kruijswijk will head up LottoNL-Jumbo at the the 2018 Tour de France, the announcement was made during the team presentation in the Netherlands
"We think that there is an opportunity to ride a good classification," Kruijswijk said. "I have competed in the Giro six or seven times. It is nice to focus on the Tour once again. During that race, there's a lot coming at you, but I'm not new to the peloton. I can deal with it. As a team, we will go to the Tour for team successes and for this we have a very nice squad."
The last time the rider was in the Tour de France was in 2015 and since then he's ridden he Giro d'Italia, in which he was close to the overall win in 2016 but a bad crash saw him lose a podium pace.
Dylan Groenewegen, who won the final Champs Elysees stage at the 2017 Tour de France will be back to win more sprint stages.
Robert Gesink announced that he will ride the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France where he will go for stage victories rather than the General Classification.
During the presentation, it was announced that Groenewegen and Primoz Roglic, who also won a stage at the Tour de France, have extended their contracts until 2020.
