Farm to Fork Hudson Valley a huge Sell Out Success!
Over 600 riders rode throughout Orange County ranging from a 10-mile family friendly Ramble Ride to a grueling 87-mile Gran Fondo
On a cloudy Sunday morning on June 10, more than 600 cyclists of all abilities rode from the picturesque Warwick Valley Winery, located between Mt. Eve and Mt. Adam, throughout Orange County. Described as a party on wheels where the guests are a unique mix of accomplished cyclists and novice riders.
Farm to Fork Fondo is a series of non-competitive cycling events in farmland regions throughout the Northeastern United States.
The mission of the Farm to Fork Fondo series is to highlight and support the symbiotic relationship between cyclists, farmers and beautiful landscapes. Ride options include several on-farm aid stations where participants sample chef-prepared treats made from each farm's ingredients.
After a short countdown, winery co-owner Jason Grizzanti, driving his huge tractor, led the group down the hill from the winery to Little York Road.
The rides throughout Orange County ranged from a 10-mile family friendly "Ramble Ride" to a grueling 87-mile "Gran Fondo."
All the riders finished back at the Warwick Valley Winery, where they had an opportunity to enjoy a country fair style after-ride barbecue and celebration, live music from Vera and the Force Band, a competition awards ceremony, distillery and cidery tasting room; beer and cider garden.
Farm to Fork Fondo Founder, Tyler Wren commented "HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Volunteer Team Blue, the Vernon Township Women’s Club and two-time winners of the Farm to Fork Fondo - Hudson Valley Volunteer Competition! We donated nearly $5000 to local community groups and non-profits who volunteered at this year’s event. Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make it an amazing day!"
