Geraint Thomas versus Chris Froome: Who Will Lead Team Sky?

Thomas admitted in his new book "The Tour According to G", that he struggled with Team Sky's instructions to protect Froome at the 2018 Tour de France bizarre, when he was clearly leading the race

Thomas, 32, won his first Tour de France title this year, while Chris Froome is a four-time champion.

Froome, 33, was initially the leader, but after Thomas took over as he forged ahead to take the yellow jersey at the 2018 Tour de France

Team Sky face a dilemma in who fills that position next year.

"We both need to decide what we are doing first," Thomas said, "I can imagine Froome will want to go to the Tour 100% because he will want to get the record of five Tour de France wins."

"But I am keen to go back, especially after wearing and winning the yellow jersey." said Thomas.

"I say let the road decide who is the best guy to come out on top." said Thomas.
