Carapaz wins the Giro d'Italia as American Chad Haga takes Final Time Trial Victory
Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) second, Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) third after beating Mikel Landa (Movistar) to the final podium spot by just eight seconds. American Chad Haga (Team Sunweb) takes the final time trial victory
An emotional final stage victory went to American Chad Haga, who spent more than two hours in the hot seat after setting the fastest time early in the day. Pre-stage favourite Victor Campenaerts (Lotto Soudal) fell four seconds short.
As the GC favourites came through, Primoz Roglic's failure to threaten Chad Haga's time, brought a huge sigh of relief and tears to the Sunweb rider's eyes.
