The Belgian went full gas coming off Team Subweb's leadout of Cees Bol to beat the rest of the sprinters.

Bol had a perfect lead out from Team Sunweb but couldn’t hold off Wout van Aert who powred past him in the final metres.

Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-QuickStep) finished third aand took the Green Jersey off the back of Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) who finished fourth.

Meanwhile, Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-QuickStep) lost the Yellow Jersey after race commissaires handed down a time penalty for an illegal feed in the final 20km.

Tomorrow's stage 6 is one you really don't want to miss!

It features a tough finish atop Mont Aigoual at 1,560m, the steepness of the road will make the stage very exciting especially after taking on the climb to the Col de la Lusette after leaving Le Vigan. At the summit, around 15 kilometres will still have to be covered to the get to the finish line.

The first day when the GC favourites will have to be on their guard!
