Alpine Loop Gran Fondo

Alpine Loop Gran Fondo

September 30 2018
Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA

The premier route begins in Harrisonburg, Virginia and covers approximately 107 miles, featuring 11,000 feet of climbing.

While the Alpine Loop is a challenge, it’s an adventure suitable for VERY fit cycling enthusiasts. You don’t need to be a racer to tackle these mountains! In fact, well prepared riders who set a brisk steady pace and take full advantage of the rest station amenities are sure to reach the Finish Line Festival with smiles! The Alpine Loop features two dirt/gravel climbs.

The Shenandoah Mountain Adventure is all-paved - the perfect route for any enthusiast! The course features the newly paved surface snaking up Moyer's Gap Road on the back of Reddish Knob. The Shenandoah Mountain Century adds scenic miles to the Adventure route for a full mountainous century.

The Valley View Challenge proved popular in it's inaugural year. Riders said it was the perfect challenge in a shorter distance; 35-miles of riding with a fun climb around Mole Hill to make for a great adventure!  The Mt Solon Metric Century is an outstanding edition to the event; at 100 kilometers (62.4 miles) this all-valley route is the perfect choice for riders looking for a full day's adventure without major mountain climbs.

Visit the event website for complete details about the event, routes, rest stops, the party, the Finish Line Festival and all the NEW excitement that will take place at the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo!
