Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie

Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie

September 22 2019
Clare, Nova Scotia, Canada

The fourth edition of Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie, Nova Scotia's first Gran Fondo cycling event, will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Our Gran Fondo has quickly grown to become a bucket list 'must-do' cycling and cultural experience! Now the largest cycling event in Atlantic Canada, we hosted 917 cyclists in 2017 - and we expect even more will ride with us this year! Our Gran Fondo will appeal to recreational riders of all skill levels, as well as to the avid racer. Although a timed event, this is more of a self-paced FUN group event, rather than a race.

Gran Fondo Baie Sainte-Marie is offering four rides in 2018. Experienced riders will be challenged by our 160 km Super Gran and 120 km Gran routes, while novice cyclists may prefer the shorter 67 km Medio or 35 km Piccolo rides. Riders will navigate rolling inland roads along lakes and rivers, and pass by towering wooden churches along the panoramic coastal route that hugs beautiful Baie Sainte Marie. Downloadable maps of each route are on our website, including photo galleries, videos and testimonials.

The region's famous Acadian hospitality and culture will be highlighted during the social event on Saturday, Sept. 22.  The entire community rolls out the welcome mat as residents will enthusiastically cheer you on from the roadside, waving Acadian flags and banging pots and pans. After your unforgettable ride, share stories while savouring on veggie chilli, BBQ pork or fresh lobster!

Registration opens in December 2018. Jersey package available until July 31, 2019. For more information:
