Seacoast Century

September 20 - September 22 2019
Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, USA

Come join us for the 44th Annual Seacoast Century Ride!  Enjoy a great ride and help support bicycle safety & advocacy.

Our Seacoast Century route follows the New Hampshire and Maine coastline with some short scenic inland loops.  Cycle New England's coast with us this fall and enjoy level to rolling terrain passing scenic small towns and beachfront communities, great ocean views with sandy beaches, headlands, rivers, wetlands, and forest.  Our route includes historic Portsmouth, State Parks, the Nubble Lighthouse, harbor views and a chance to take a dip in the ocean after the ride or stop and take in a local event like the Portsmouth Maritime Festival.  Options include a full, metric, half or quarter century.  All rides begin and end at Hampton Beach State Park (the southern most point in the Park near the harbor).  Check-in begins on Friday from 4-6PM or at 7AM each day. You'll need to check in to pick up your number and rider information.  This is family-friendly recreation, a scenic bike ride, not a race or timed event.

You can ride either or both days.  No need to select a day, just check-in and ride.  Only $50 ($60 after July 31st) plus the BikeReg.com service fee.  Half price fee for young riders (15 and under).  All support services are available both days.  Your registration fee includes a tee shirt, well-stocked rest stops, ride support and a bowl of soup and snacks at the end of the ride.  Full Century rides need to be completed in 10 hours or less.  Registrations must be made on-line by September 4th.  Mail-in registrations not accepted. Higher fee ($70) for Day of Registration.

The Granite State Wheelmen (GSW) Seacoast Century is our largest ride of the year.  The event is limited to 1,600 riders.

With a flat to rolling scenic route along the coastlines of New Hampshire and Maine and all the support services provided for such events, the Seacoast Century Ride has received several national awards. Many riders come back year after year making this event part of their annual vacation plans.

The Seacoast Century is a relaxed family-oriented event that many choose for their first Century or return to year after year to enjoy with friends.  We expect basic rider courtesy like calling on your left when passing other riders and allowing a safe distance to pass.  We share the road with vehicles and must obey traffic rules and signal our intention to turn, stop or pass.  We expect riders to travel single file in busy road sections like Route 1-A near Odionne State Park in Rye.  No long pace lines or racing against the clock or other riders.  We want to make great memories traveling along the scenic route that makes this event quite special,  Please join the Granite State Wheelmen for a memorable Century ride!

All riders must follow all rules of the road, ride single file in traffic, not block the roadways, and walk across bridges if so directed.  Rider numbers and helmets must be worn at all times.  Riders will be monitored by the local police departments to help ensure safe riding practices are followed. Please help us to make this a safe and enjoyable experience for all.  This is a ride, not a race!  We work hard to build support with local towns and the states to offer this ride, riders need to help us by riding safely and with courtesy to others to continue to offer this century.
