The Emmitt Smith Gran Fondo is a premier, multi-course cycling event designed for the professional to the weekend rider. This charity fundraiser includes a timed race with a $10,000 purse for the 100-mile course, the only one of its kind in Texas. There is also a 100K, 48-mile, 22-mile and 2.2-mile children’s course.

Following the race, participants will enjoy a party with a beer garden, food and family activities.

The inaugural race will launch from Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco on Saturday, September 17, 2016 and includes a post race party with a beer garden, live entertainment, family activities and awards ceremony.

All proceeds from the Emmitt Smith Gran Fondo go to Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities, a 501c3 nonprofit charity that creates and funds unique experiences and educational opportunities for underserved youth.

All Routes (100-mile, 100K, 45-mile and 22-mile)

Rules of the road apply
Road and hybrid bikes are recommended
All riders are subject to pre-determined cutoffs for the safety of all riders. Please consult the timing table for guidance
All Emmitt Smith Gran Fondo (ESGF) courses close at 1:30 PM, after that time no official support will be provided
100-mile and 100K routes are capped at 600 participants each
There will be multiple ESGF run rest stops along every route. Once finalized the rest stops will be listed on the ESGF website and communicated to participant
Riders that disobey the rules of the road are subject to be removed from the event at the discretion of the police officers present
100-mile route and $10,000 purse:

Winner takes all
Must hit all timing points
Must have a timing chip (issued by ESGF)
Must have a bib number (bib number must match registered participant)
USCF rules of the road will apply
All riders are subject to WADA testing
No motorized, electric, or assisted bicycles will be permitted on the 100-mile route
Neutral support only on the course (will be provided, this includes water and wheels)
Lead pack only will be protected. Other riders must obey the rules of the road
Outside the rolling enclosure the rules of the road apply
Yellow line rule will be enforced at officials’ discretion
Family Ride Registration

Family Ride will be capped at 100 participants
Children must be at least four years old to participate
Children’s bikes, rear axle mounted or rear seat/stay (tag along) bikes will be allowed on the Family and 22-mile routes only

Difficulty of Greatest Route: C - Moderate terrain with rolling short steep hills or moderate, sustained climbs

Start Times / Itinerary

5:30 AM Packet pick-up begins and vendor booths open
5:45 AM Corporate Pavilion opens (Registered participants only)
Hospitality tent opens

6:45 AM Line up for Race begins
7:00 AM Gran Fondo to begin (all routes, staggered by distance. Longest to shortest distance with a 30 sec to 1 min delay in between)
8:00 AM Festival Opens (vendors, games and other activities will be open)
8:30 AM All routes in process
9:30 AM Beer Garden opens
Post Race Party begins (food and other activities)

All 100 Mile Gran Fondo riders must be or passed Dam Cutoff to continue on Full 100 Gran Fondo or get turned to Dam Cutoff Gran Fondo route.
VIP reception begins (Registered participants only)

1:00 PM Awards Ceremony begins
1:30 PM All riders in from all routes – courses closed
3:00 PM Festival and venue closed
