Gran Fondo New England

September 30 2017
Thompson, Connecticut, USA

A dream come true for any cyclist, Gran Fondo New England promises to deliver a day of fun and excitement to riders of any ability. Comprised of four different routes of 105 and 40 miles with gravel sectors; 65 and 35 fully-paved courses, riders will have the opportunity to explore the finest roads and most pristine autumn landscapes that Southern New England has to offer. The 105-mile route will serve as the 2016 Major Taylor Century presented by the Seven Hills Wheelmen. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Major Taylor Association.

The four routes wind through charming towns and past quaint New England farms, offering picturesque views of the fall foliage (nature permitting). Sticking to their New England roots, course designers have included several gravel sectors on two of the courses (all rideable on a road bike, but 28mm tires are recommended) highlighting some of the best kept secrets in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. Riders looking for a challenge can push themselves on timed segments throughout the routes.

All four courses will include mechanical and SAG support, fully-stocked rest stops at local establishments, and roads with minimal traffic. Routes will be well-marked and GPS files will be available for download.

Your registration includes a T-shirt, a souvenir New Belgium beer glass, and nourishing post-ride meal with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Your entry fee will also help support youth cycling programs in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
