2017 Gran Fondo Tehachapi

Gran Fondo Tehachapi

September 16 2017
Tehachapi, California, USA

The Tehachapi Gran Fondo is a long distance, mass start road cycling event. It will contain multiple routes ranging from 18-104 miles so that all types of riders can participate.  Our Gran Fondo will be an annual tradition imitating the Italian theme and participation is open to recreational and amateur cyclists. The Tehachapi Gran Fondo will be a festive one in which there are large cycling expos and with a mass Italian themed pasta feed for participants. There are only a few Gran Fondos currently taking place in California in places like San Luis Obispo, Orange County, Monterey, Tahoe, etc. We are working with the Kern County Board of Trade and our Tehachapi Gran Fondo could become a premier Kern County event, drawing thousands of participants.

While the event is not officially a race, it is timed so that participants can compete for fastest times in their age category and on certain climbs.  It’s important to us that the Tehachapi Gran Fondo not be a cycling event only, but that an entire event weekend. The Tehachapi Gran Fondo is much more about experience than the cycling event itself. We will take riders through beautiful routes that showcase our areas scenic beauty and points of interest. Participants will wear a timing chip that records how long it takes them to complete the course.

For those of you who will be riding in the Tehachapi GranFondo, we hope you will stay and enjoy part of the afternoon upon your finish. Our FREE BIKE VALET service will watch over your bike while you enjoy lunch on us (as part of your registration) and participate in the festivities. Wash the road dirt off with a glass of cold beer and kick back to live music. With activities for all ages, invite your friends and family to join you to celebrate your completion of the Tehachapi GranFondo. We hope to see you there!
