October 05 2019
Blairstown, New Jersey, USA

The fifth annual Tour de Blairstown will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2020, to benefit the Foodshed Alliance to help New Jersey’s family farms thrive, provide access  to farm-fresh healthy local food for all, regardless of means, and protect our rural environment.

Registration for the ride, which offers a choice of three scenic routes through the northwest NJ countryside, is open (http://tourdeblairstown.org), the rate will be $50 early-bird online until June 30; $60 online until October 2; and $75 on site the day of the event.

The event, which is being professionally managed by Marty’s Reliable Cycle, begins and ends at the Blairstown Farmers’ Market at 5 Stillwater Road, Blairstown, across the street from the Blairstown Elementary School. It is open to all ages; those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult.

Cyclists have a choice of 22-, 40- and 62-mile scenic routes, which begin with an easy registration/check-in process with free coffee and a light breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The 22-mile ride leaves at 8:30 a.m.; the 40-mile and 62-mile rides leave at 8 a.m

Lunch and craft beer after the ride is included in the registration fee at the Blairstown Farmers' Market.

Organized by Marty's Reliable Cycle to benefit the Foodshed Alliance, the Tour de Blairstown is sponsored by the Blairstown Rotary Club, the Greater Blairstown Business Association, YMCA Camp Mason, Windy Brow Farms, Community Supported Garden at Genesis Farm, Township of Stillwater and Triple Brook Camping Resort.

Marty’s Reliable Cycle (http://martysreliable.com) promotes cycling at the local level and sponsors many charity rides to support those in its community. Its three full-service cycle shops are located in Morristown, Randolph and Hackettstown. Proceeds from the event benefit the Foodshed Alliance (http://foodshedalliance.org) which works at the intersection of food, farming and the environment to foster a self-sustaining foodshed that supports farmers, nourishes people, respects the land and strengthens our communities.
