York – Leeds – York Sportive

York – Leeds – York Sportive

March 11 2018
York, Yorkshire, UK

York – Leeds – York, the biggest new event in the Northern Calendar.

Depart from the Historic City of York and ride out on carefully selected roads to avoid any serious traffic. We almost immediately join the River Ouse as we head onto some stunning little Country roads in the direction of Leeds.

There are 2 route choices, the medium at 63 miles and the long at 101. The medium is aimed at the recreational and progressing rider. It’s longer than our typical shortest option however it’s really a rather flat ride and so enjoyable we felt that our short route regulars would enjoy the challenge and the recreational cyclists of York and Leeds could take part and really stretch their legs!

Our long route is basically the same as the Medium but from Harewood house we head North into some serious hills for 20 miles. We’ve ridden these a lot and they are tough!

A major headline on the route is our visit to Harewood house, a real coup for a Sportive. Harewood hosted the Grand Depart of the 2014 TDF and though we can’t promise Price William will be there to great you, it will be a spectacular part of the ride!
