Ride Chartridge

May 20 2018
Buckinghamshire, South East, UK

The Ride Chartridge sportive is an excellent way to cycle The Chilterns. You will be able to enjoy the scenery and the challenge without having to look at a map at every junction. Our sportive is run by cyclists, for cyclists and we aim to offer you the absolute best experience.

The event is hosted by Chartridge Combined School in Chesham and any profits for the event are donated to the school. We are partnering with British Cycling to ensure that the event is safe and enjoyable, alongside a number of local businesses. We are excited to announce that we have the support of Mountain Mania & The Road Room in Tring as our cyle-industry partners, they will have a pop-up store available on the day and will provide emergency mechanical support.

Whilst our ‘Black Run’ will be a dramatic ‘modern-century’ through the Chiltern hills, (100 km), we are offering cycling activities for the whole family. The ‘Red Run’ will be a relaxed and entertaining ride, (45 km), that will suit all abilities and can be ridden on mountain bikes or hybrids - so need to rush out and buy an expensive new road bike, (unless you so desire!). Our ‘Blue Run’ will be an activity for children based around cycling proficiency and will take place within the safety of the school grounds.

Our intention is deliver an engaging day of cycling for all abilities. At HQ there will be fun activities and great refreshments, possibly even some music and dancing! We encourage you to bring your friends, family and colleagues to support you on the day.

There are three routes: 30 miles, 60 miles and 75 miles. All our rides provide an excellent way to enjoy the local scenery, meet new riders and raise money for the school. With over 450 riders signing up in 2017, £7000 was raised for the school and the team of parents organising the event hope to beat that total in 2018.
