Central VT Cycle Tour

Central VT Cycle Tour

June 28 2020
Montpelier, Vermont, USA
COVID-19 Status: This event has been postponed.

It's a classic ~ among the best one day bike tour routes in New England. Mountain vistas backdrop farmers haying in the fields. White steepled churches, historic barns. Waterfalls and lakes. The scenery is unbroken. And you are free to concentrate on the beauty because it is a supported ride with convenient food stops, well marked courses, and bike patrol on duty. All wrapping up with a hearty, homestyle, picnic dinner.

- flexible start time for all tour lengths - sign in for everyone opens at 8 AM and closes at 10 AM. Sign in and start riding anytime between 8 and 10.
- by popular request - a fourth food/water stop added to Long Tour - in East Calais (mile 17.8)
- and, oh yeah, Morse Farm Maple Creemee included with every registration (you have earned it!)

Central Vermont Cycling Tour. Since 2002! Scenic, well marked well mapped routes. Choose among three levels of ease/difficulty, ranging from the family friendly short course (quiet roads, along ponds and by country stores) to the challenging long course (59 miles of gravel grinder roads with over 6000 feet of elevation gain) - all courses were designed by Olympic cyclist Pavel Cherkasov.

Registration is $60 per adult. Kids, and teens, age 18 and under register for free. So bring a crowd!

You can register online at BikeReg and pay with credit card. Or, if you prefer, you can print out the registration form and pay by check through the mail. (In any case, please fill out a separate registration for each person, even if free, so we can keep track.) Even if you register and pay online, each participant will also need to sign a hard copy of the event waiver. You can print it out, below, and mail it in any time, or you can sign just the waiver when you on the morning of the event when you check in (whichever is easiest for you.)

Start and Finish at Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks in East Montpelier, VT with routes running through towns of Calais, East Montpelier, Middlesex, Woodbury, and Worcester.

The schedule on June 24, 2018 is: Sign in opens at 8 AM and closes at 10 AM. You can sign in and start riding anytime between 8 and 10. At 11 AM homestyle dinner begins and goes through the afternoon; 5 PM course closes.

All you can eat homestyle food is free to all in attendance. (Cash donations are welcome of course.) IRS disclosure: the fair market value of this event is $25 per person. The amount of your registration fee plus any donation together in excess of $25 is tax deductible charitable contribution to the Cross Vermont Trail Association.

Refunds may be requested up to two week prior to the event date. After two weeks prior, we cannot accept any refund requests (sorry). Refunds requested before the two weeks ahead cut off date will be paid out in the week following the event.

This is a fundraiser for the Cross Vermont Trail. We are working to build a multi-use path across the width of Vermont; following the Winooski River and Wells River valleys. The trail is connecting together communities, their schools, and the natural areas between. Your donation will help us build more trail - getting the Cross Vt Trail off of the shoulder of Rte 2 and onto a path in the woods in East Montpelier, including a bridge over the Winooski River. It's been a long time dream, and there is a lot of work still to go - but we're finally getting close!

We look forward to another day of camaraderie and cycling. All are welcome. Contact us at www.crossvermont.org any time with questions.
