granGABLE fondo Powered by Scheels

October 01 2017
Iowa City, IA USA

In its fifth year, the granGABLE powered by Scheels is a mass participation cycling ride that combines all things Hawkeye with a commitment to excellence. Named after legendary athlete and coach Dan Gable, this ride is a must-do for cyclists of all ages and abilities. This year, granGABLE will give three different route options to choose from. Choose either the 60 or 100 mile road routes or take a shot at the inaugural 55 mile Gable Gravel Grinder, all while supporting the Iowa Bicycle Coalition, the Hawkeye Wrestling Club, and the National MS Society. Jersey packages will be available for all routes along with the "service pass" option (simply normal route services) at a lower price. A la carte apparel from Primal includes windbreakers, vests and bibs at an additional cost.

This year's post party will be held at Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City beginning at 11am and will be open to all participants and the general public. Riders will receive a complimentary drink and meal after completing the route with additional food/drink available for purchase from Big Grove. Entertainment will include music, Dan Gable medal ceremony & photographs, and all the fun & games available at the restaurant.
