Icemans Challenge Gravel Adventure Race and Pursuit

Iceman's Challenge Gravel Adventure Race and Pursuit

December 02 2017
China Spring, Texas, USA

The 4th Annual Iceman's Challenge Gravel Road Race and Adventure Pursuit is a fun, laid back gravel adventure event held at the historic Talbert Ranch in China Spring, Texas. The Iceman's Challenge is a race and adventure ride organized to give gravel riders an opportunity to ride of some of the remote and most beautiful country roads in McLennan and Bosque Counties.  This year we offer an 86 Mile Ultra Gravel Road Race and  Adventure Pursuit Ride and courses of 86, 68, 54, and 36 miles.  The event takes place on Saturday, December 2, 2017, near Waco, Texas, with all courses located in McLennan and Bosque Counties.  The Iceman's Challenge offers routes along beautiful gravel roads, some shaded by trees and on sunlit country roads taking you through farm and ranch lands meandering by rivers and crossing creeks, and streams.  The four courses offered will feature roads with varying surface conditions from compacted gravel, small cinder-like sand, smooth dirt, rocky to smooth water crossings, rutted wash outs, chip seal and smooth asphalt pavement.  For 2017, the 86 mile and 68 mile courses will offer a new section called the Angel's Lair featuring four challenging climbs and descents with some spectacular view from the highest elevations in Bosque County.   Course routes average between 90-75% gravel roads with 20-25% paved roads.

As in our past events, we strive to offer a high quality event and to give back to our local community which supports the Iceman's Challenge Gravel Pursuit and welcomes event participants.  Each year we select a deserving charity or organization to donate our net proceeds on behalf of all our event participants, sponsors, and volunteers. The 4th Annual Iceman’s Challenge Gravel Race and Pursuit is very pleased to announce The Arc of McLennan County as our 2017 Community Charity Campaign donation recipient.  The mission of the Arc of McLennan County is to expand opportunities, care, and support for persons and families impacted by intellectual and developmental disabilities.  For specific information or to make a direct donation to The Arc’s programs, please visit www.wacoarc.org
