Lebanon Oregon enjoys a rich, rural history and was once the Strawberry capital of the world.

The town continues to proudly honor its past each June with a Strawberry Festival…celebrating this gloriously sweet, red fruit since 1909.

In the early 1990s, Lebanon's Santiam Spokes Bicycle club coordinated the first ever Strawberry Century supported bicycle ride in the lush Willamette Valley.

Well known for its scenic, low-traveled rural backroads; family-friendly atmosphere; kind, hospitable volunteer support; and the namesake finish line shortcake dessert, it makes sense that so many cyclists across the Northwest call this their favorite supported summer cycling event.

In response to the recent announcement that the Santiam Spokes doesn't have the capacity to coordinate the event in 2024- four Lebanon locals, all of whom tackled their first 100 mile ride at the iconic Strawberry Century, decided their fond memories of the event were just as valuable as everyone else's, and that those memories deserve to keep riding on.

The 33rd edition of the event comes with a slight name change to “Lebanon Strawberry Century” as a nod to our team's vision to establish a sustainable foundation for continued growth, including the possibility of handing back the event in the future to the Santiam Spokes or to the deserving community where it all started, Lebanon, Oregon, itself. This year's event features the same breathtaking routes that you've come to love over the years, new bicycle industry partners and supporters, our beloved Family Route for young ones and those new to cycling, and a couple of other perks up our sleeves.

Strawberry Century
