Essential Costa Rica, CRC 506 UCI Gran Fondo from Costa to Costa, is a cycling event of route of character amateur, classificatory for the date of the world big funds of the UCI international cycling union calendar for 2019-2020.

In this first edition of two days the event will travel the country from the atlantic coast to the pacific coast.

The first stage of Saturday, November 9, will be the classification stage for the UCI worlds. Initiate in the city of Limon in the atlantic, to the center of the country.

The second stage will begin in the capital city of San Jose on Sunday, November 10, and it will also be a great uci fund, and will be linked to the final goal in the coastal city of puntarenas.

This is an event that, for the first time in the history of the national cycling, seeks as a goal the declaratory of zero emissions-carbon neutral.

Costa Rican Tourism, along with event organizers, will be publishing special hotel and travel rates as a package on the event website. Please for special deals for participants.

Features

Routing from the Caribbean Sea coast to the Pacific Ocean coast, this unique two-day UCI-sanctioned Gran Fondo will traverse through one of Central America’s most scenic countries, which include lush vegetation and volcanic backdrops. Stage 1 begins in the eastern coastal city of Lemon on Saturday November 9 and routes west to finish in Tucurique de Cariago. Stage 1 is part of the UCI classification for the World Championships in Canada in 2020. Stage 2 begins November 10 in the capital city of San Jose and routes west to the magnificent city of Puntarenas.
 
The courses are flat to rolling with a few select climbs. The climate is mild in November. Race will include introduction and riding with a Grand Tour winner. This is the first iteration as part of the prestigious UCI Gran Fondo series.
