The familiar bergs and cobbles of Flanders, with the first appearance this spring of the Oude-Kwaremont and the Paterberg with 30km to go. At 200km, the race is often selective but doesn't always manage to break up the bunch.

Debusschere will be looking to retain his title and Vanmarcke, Degenkolb, Matthews, Demare, Coquard and others will hope it comes down to a sprint.

The Quick Step team is looking really strong, featuring Gilbert, sprint talent Gaviria, Stybar, Terpstra and others.

Stage 3 offers GC riders another chance to shine with two first-category climbs including the final ascent of La Molina at 1,692 meters high.

Volta a Catalunya changes race leader again, BMC awarded the TTT win. Jose Joaquin Rojas was initially designated as Volta a Catalunya new leader, but was penalized three minutes for pushing teammate Nelson Oliveira back into the rotation.

Contador, Froome and Valverde to ride Volta a Catalunya

Some of the best climbers in the world will clash on the climbs at the Tour of Catalunya from March 20th - March 26th.

Three-times Tour de France winner Chris Froome makes his European debut and will clash with favorites Alberto Contador and Alejandro Valverde in what should be an animated week of racing across Northern Spain.

From the first gun, the race includes several tough mountain stages and a mountain top finish, before heading towards Barcelona for the final showdown that features a finishing circuit that has to be climbed eight times.

2017 Criterium du Dauphine Route Revealed

The 69th edition of the Criterium du Dauphine will be held from Sunday the 4th of June to Sunday the 11th of June.

Typically the last big showdowns before the Tour de France, this years route features some tough mountain stages and a novel approach to finish at the top of Alpe d’Huez.

Chris Froome is the defending champion, and shared the podium with Romain Bardet and Daniel Martin. Froome also won in 2015 too and on both occasions he went on to win the Tour de France.

The 108th edition of Milan-San Remo is the first Monument and the longest one day race on the professional calendar at 180 miles.

La Primavera, marks the real start of Classics season. often viewed as a Sprinter's Classic with the fastest man over the Poggio likely to come out on top.

It is rarely so simple with climbs like the Cipressa and Poggio providing ample opportunities for the puncheurs and breakaway specialists to try and escape the Peloton - and the sprinters.

LIVESTREAM: 2017 Paris-Nice

The 75th edition of Paris-Nice will take place from Sunday, 5 March to Sunday, 12 March 2017. The race goes back to 1933 and is after the Grand Tours one of the most important stage races on the cycling calendar. As in recent years, the riders will be shot into action in the Yvelines department, to the west of Paris. Obviously, the finish is in Nice.

Geraint Thomas is title holder. With a brilliant descent of Col d’Èze he held off an Alberto Contador attack at the eleventh hour, winning the Race to the Sun with a 4 seconds margin in 2016. Richie Porte finished in third.

For the first time it’s a five-stage race, the Dubai Tour 2017 scheduled from 31 January to 4 February is significantly longer, a total of 865km.

For flat stages with one medium mountain stage up to the finish at the Hatta Dam on Stage 4. The last 40 kilometres have two uphill sections, yet the closing climb is toughest with a 17% ramp just before the finish line.

The likes of Vincenzo Nibali, Darwin Atapuma, Bauke Mollema, Tom Boonen, Fernando Gaviria and a whole host of top professional riders will tackle the 7 Stage tour.

The Tour de San Juan replaces the Tour de San Luis which was unable to place in 2017.

The Tour Down Under is a cycling race in and around Adelaide, South Australia from January 15th to January 22nd 2017.The race attracts riders from all over the world being the first UCI World Tour race of the season.

STAGE 2: Stirling to Paracombe, 93 miles Mountain Stage taking place on Tuesday 17th in the U.S. and due to the time difference, Wednesday 18th in Europe and Australia.
