Rui Costa gives UAE Team Emirates an important home victory.

The last stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour was won by Australian Caleb Ewan of Orica-Scott as Rui Costa of UAE Team Emirates celebrated, securing the overall victory. Mark cavendish won the Green Sprinters jersey.

UAE Team Emirates' Rui Costa finished safely in the pack and was confirmed the overall victor ahead of Ilnur Zakarin of Katusha-Alpecin and Tom Dumoulin of Team Sunweb

Rui Costa wins queen stage at Abu Dhabi Tour

Rui Costa of UAE Team Emirates has won the queen stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour.  The Portuguese rider beat Ilnur Zakarin of Katusha-Alpecin in a sprint of two.

The 186 km course was mostly flat but included a tough climb up the Jebel Hafeet mountain in its finale.

With only a flat stage left to go on Sunday, Rui Costa will only need to stay in the peloton to secure the overall victory.

Peter Sagan sprints to victory in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne

Peter Sagan won the 2017 edition of Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. He out sprinted his breakaway companions Jasper Stuyven and Luke Rowe, Benoot, and Trenti.

Last year's winner Jasper Stuyven of Trek-Segafredo attacked. The Belgian was joined by Peter Sagan, Tiesj Benoot (Lotto-Soudal), Luke Rowe (Sky) and Matteo Trentin (Quick-Step).

This move proved to be final blow to those that had missed the cut earlier as the five remained ahead of their chasers and the peloton and as such got to battle for the victory in a small sprint.

Axeon Hagens Berman Wins Alentejo Team Title

The Axeon Hagens Berman Cycling Team captured the team title at Volta ao Alentejo for the second straight year Sunday while also placing four riders in the top 11 in the final standings.

The American development team earned three podium finishes in the five-day race, headlined by Logan Owen's victory on Stage 4 on Saturday. British national criterium champion Chris Lawless scored a pair of runner-up finishes, both of them to Colombia's Juan Sebastian Molano (Manzana Postobon), winner of Stage 3 and 5.

Axeon Hagens Bermans Owen Wins Penultimate Stage In Portugal

Logan Owen scored the Axeon Hagens Berman Cycling Team's first road victory of the year in Europe with his win Saturday on the penultimate stage of the Volta ao Alentejo.

The 21-year-old from Bremerton, Washington, out-sprinted race leader Carlos Barbero (Movistar Team) and Jasper De Laat (Metec-TKH Continental Cyclingteam presented by Mantel) to earn his first win since his victory last April in Liège-Bastogne-Liège Espoirs.

Owen's accomplishment came one day after teammate Chris Lawless finished runner-up on Stage 3

Greg Van Avermaet claimed his second consecutive win at Omloop Het Niuewsblad with a stunning sprint to the line ahead of Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgohe) and Sep Vanmarcke (Cannondale-Drapac Pro Cycling Team).

Van Avermaet, Sagan and Vanmarcke were in the lead 20km before the finish line, and it was this trio that would hold off the reduced peloton and battle it out for the win.

The three riders were eyeing each other in the final 2km but it was Van Avermaet who was positioned well on the inside approaching the line and sprinted to claim his first win of the season.

Team Sunweb's Lucinda Brand (NED) finished off an impressive display of team tactics and cooperation at the first women's classic of the season at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad yesterday in Flanders taking the win ahead of Team Sunweb teammate Ellen van Dijk (NED) in fourth.

In her first outing for Team Sunweb, Brand made her way into the main selection of the day over the Molenberg climb, and with teammate van Dijk already up the road in the main breakaway of the day, she was in a perfect position to launch her solo attack late in the stage to take an impressive solo victory.

Kittel beats Cavendish and Ewan in final Sprint on stage 2 of the Abu Dhabi Tour

Marcel Kittel of Quick-Step Floors has won the second stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour from a seemingly impossible position to beat Caleb Ewan and Mark Cavendish in the final sprint.

Caleb Ewan's Orica-Scott was perfectly positioned, the Australian seemed headed for victory but Kittel fought to the very last moment to take the win ahead of Ewan and Cavendish.

Ewan was forced to settle for second with Mark Cavendish taking third place for Dimension Data, who remains in the overall lead after two of four stages.

The day's breakaway was caught with around 15kms to go.

In the sprint Mark Cavendish easily came round Bonifazio to win the opening stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour, Greipel unable to match Cavendish's late surge.

Reports coming in that Owain Doull's shoe was potentially "sliced" by Marcel Kittel's disc brake in a crash with 1km to go, although new footage shows that Doull may have crashed into a barrier?

Sep Vanmarcke, recently returned to Slipstream Sports, leads the squad. Taylor Phinney will make his Cannondale-Drapac debut on the cobbles. He finished seventh in 2014 at Omloop.
