Team Sunweb Wins The Womens Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Team Sunweb's Lucinda Brand (NED) finished off an impressive display of team tactics and cooperation at the first women's classic of the season at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad yesterday in Flanders taking the win ahead of Team Sunweb teammate Ellen van Dijk (NED) in fourth.

In her first outing for Team Sunweb, Brand made her way into the main selection of the day over the Molenberg climb, and with teammate van Dijk already up the road in the main breakaway of the day, she was in a perfect position to launch her solo attack late in the stage to take an impressive solo victory.

Kittel beats Cavendish and Ewan in final Sprint on stage 2 of the Abu Dhabi Tour

Marcel Kittel of Quick-Step Floors has won the second stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour from a seemingly impossible position to beat Caleb Ewan and Mark Cavendish in the final sprint.

Caleb Ewan's Orica-Scott was perfectly positioned, the Australian seemed headed for victory but Kittel fought to the very last moment to take the win ahead of Ewan and Cavendish.

Ewan was forced to settle for second with Mark Cavendish taking third place for Dimension Data, who remains in the overall lead after two of four stages.

The day's breakaway was caught with around 15kms to go.

In the sprint Mark Cavendish easily came round Bonifazio to win the opening stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour, Greipel unable to match Cavendish's late surge.

Reports coming in that Owain Doull's shoe was potentially "sliced" by Marcel Kittel's disc brake in a crash with 1km to go, although new footage shows that Doull may have crashed into a barrier?
