Driver to be charged after cyclist films unprovoked Road Rage

A driver in Ross, California, is scheduled to appear before Marin Superior Court in early April after cyclist hands over video to the police.

Matthew Marshall Engle, 55, will appear on April 4th in Marin Superior Court after he was caught on camera in February backing his car up near cyclist Jan Weissenberger, blaring his horn and shouting “I’ll get a shotgun and shoot your head off!”.

He could face a prison sentence of five to 90 days and a fine of up to $1,000.

However, just a few minutes into his run, the Slovak BORA - hansgrohe rider had to make a sharp detour from the course as a dog and its walker crossed in front of him.

It was testament to Peter’s amazing bike handling skills that he was able to make his way onto the pavement to avoid a crash. Coming in 72nd position with a time of 12:37, the red points jersey was confirmed as his.

The Cape Town Cycle Tour, one of the largest cycling events in the world had to cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.

It left 35,000 of athletes who would have taken part in the world-famous race disappointed. At least one rider in the elite category was stretchered to hospital after crashing early on.

Dozens of others are believed to have fallen and suffered minor injuries after gusts channelled between city skyscrapers made some sections of the route impossible to ride.

Matvey Mamykin from Katusha had a bizarre crash on the Queen stage of Tirreno-Adriatico.

The 22-year-old Russian rider was trying to stay ahead of the peloton in the closing kilometres. His back wheel went from under him and he hit the road pretty hard and slid across the apex of a bend, into the roadside barrier so quickly he shot underneath it and down into a ditch.

Luckliy Mamykin was ok and with the help of a spectator, was back on his bike still maintaining his lead over the peloton.

Tirreno Adriactico, the race between the 2 seas, in Italy, is a good early season test of form. Yesterday's opening stage consisted of a team time trial.

It was not a good day for Team Sky as Mocon's tire came off the rim and then his wheel bizarrely shattered, leaving him bradly bruised and graized, putting Team Sky out of the running in this year's race before they even begun.

Taking part in the Tour of Good Hope, a rider narrowly avoids being wiped out by a truck. In this video Rohan du Plooy veers into the left lane not knowing a truck is coming past at full speed.

The roads which weren't closed for the amatuer race sa the lorry lock up it's brakes in an attempt not to Mr du Plooy.

The South African rider called the incident “probably my closest call ever"!

Tony Martin gets eight stitches to his face after a nasty crash at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.

The time trial world champion crashed with around 55km to go after a bizarre accident at the back of an echelon. Martin went over the handlebars and landed face first onto the tarmac. He was seen after holding his head in his hands as he sat on the road.

He seemed distressed, but remounted and carried on!

A dog decided it was fun to run along with a top Spanish bike race recently.

The motorcade tried to stop the dog, but the pooch was having non of it and accerrated around the bike to stay in front of the peloton.

The dog has serious pace and stamina and guts as he accelerates several times to stay in front the of bunch!

Markus Stockl clocks 104 mph on a standard mountain bike down a mountain with no name in Chile’s Atacama desert.

In just 11 seconds and at a speed of 167.6 km/h with a standard mountain bike, whose components you could buy yourself in any cycling shop.

With the gravel slope of 45 degrees deemed the perfect angle for his record, the 43-year-old’s pulse hit the 170 beats per minute mark.

This years World Championships were really hard, the ground was frozen, slick, and then thawed making for tough conditions.

The 2017 UCI cyclocross world championships in Bieles, Luxemburg were great for Belgians Wout van Aert and Sanne Cant who won their coveted rainbow stripes.

For others, the pinnacle event was confirmation that racing cyclocross is a hard and punishing discipline, especially when the ground is frozen.
