13:10 local, 07:10 US EST  -  The Passo Gavia, the Cima Coppi as the highest point of this year's Giro, has been cut from the route. That's because there's still a load of snow and it will be impossible to make the roads safe by Tuesday. Stage 16 will instead take in a couple of earlier climbs, taking in Aprica via the harder side before doing the Mortirolo as planned.

12:57 local, 06:57 US EST  -  Today's stage is one of the longest on the Giro at 232km, starting with a 160km flat section before the race swings into a series of short but challenging climbs and descents which pundits feel may suit Nibali.

12:56 local, 06:56 US EST  -  Hello, welcome to coverage of stage 15 of the Giro. The stage that is hilly rather than mountainous. Inspired by the late-season Classic, Il Lombardia, it's the sort of terrain that could provoke aggressive racing

Stage 15, Sunday May 26 2019 - Ivrea to Como - 237 km

Stage 15 is the longest stage of the race, 237km from Ivrea to Como.

Riders will face the ‘classic’ finale of recent editions of Il Lombardia: Madonna del Ghisallo, Colma di Sormano (without climbing the Muro), Civiglio and San Fermo before the finish line on the shores of Lake Como.

This is a tough stage, which will be suited to Classics specialists.

Riders to be thankful that tomorrow is the second and final rest day in Como.
