Oleg Tinkov piles the pressure onto Contador

Former team owner Oleg Tinkov has blasted Contador, this time calling the Spanish champion an "investment scam".

Tinkov's comments will put the pressure on Contador to produce results.

Contador is aiming to win the Tour de France with his Trek-Segafredo team, however he faces stiff opposition from Chris Froome with Team Sky and Nairo Quintana with Team Movistar.

This will also pile the pressure onto Trek-Segafredo who will have to justify his signing if he doesn't win a major race this year.

Movistar Team launches 2017 season in Madrid

Winners of the UCI WorldTour team ranking for the last four seasons in a row, will seek another top spot in the Tour de France.

In 2017, the Movistar Team, which will start their Spanish and European campaign on Thursday with the first trophy of the Mallorca Challenge, will fight again for overall success in the Tour de France, following the four podium finishes in as many years by their leaders Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde.

It will be the main landmark of a season where the Giro and the Vuelta, together with the best one-week races and classics of the world calendar, will be the biggest goals of a season where they hope to obtain a fifth consecutive UCI WorldTour title.

Richie Porte believes he can beat Chris Froome at the Tour de France

Richie Porte won Tour Down Under for the first time and the former Team Sky rider is relishing his role as team leader for the forthcoming season.

His Grand Tour dreams last year continued to be ruined by bad luck. A stage two puncture and a crash caused by a TV motorbike on stage 12 saw him finish fifth in the Tour de France when a podium spot beckoned.

Porte says his good friend and former teammate Chris Froome wasn’t bulletproof in France and is looking forward to this years showdown.
