Chris Froome joins thousands at ICAP L Etape London by Le Tour de France
 
Chris Froome, a three-time winner of the world’s most famous cycle race, joined thousands of amateur cyclists at ICAP L Etape London by Le Tour de France on Sunday 25th September. Froome’s appearance inspired riders, who had travelled from all over the UK and beyond, to complete the popular sportive which has quickly become a firm favourite in the cycling calendar. As well as great riding, cyclists enjoyed a number of Le Tour de France experiences including the red Skoda’s and podium finish synonymous with the pro event.

Cyclists take on UKs 100-mile Plymouth Gran Fondo
 
Two hundred cyclists took part in a mass ride around Devon and Cornwall as the Gran Fondo rode into town. Riders from all over the country took part in 100-mile and 70-mile pedals starting and finishing at Plymouth’s Royal William Yard.They crossed the Tamar and looped through some tough terrain on both sides of the river.

Record 5,500 riders at 6th Edition of Amys Gran Fondo
 
The opening event of the 2017 Gran Fondo World Series qualifying season scored again a new participants record with 5,500 starters in its sixth edition in Lorne, Australia. Amys Granfondo has claimed the second weekend of September as a fixed stopover in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series with a weekend filled with a criterium, hill climb, family rides, a medio fondo, elite racing and last but not least the Gran Fondo. Twenty-one-year-old Lionel Mawditt took the mens overall title and New Zealander Bronwyn Macgregor took home the overall female title.

1,800 Cyclists Took on 205 mile LoToJa Classic in Utah
 
Nearly 1,800 cyclists pedaled from Logan, Utah, to Teton Village during the 34th Annual LoToJa Classic. Cyclists were spread far and wide from Utah to northwest Wyoming, but motorists didnt face travel restrictions or road closures during the event. The 206-mile race featured registrants from 38 states. It is the longest one-day Race and Gran Fondo in America .Cyclists conquered three mountain passes as they pedaled through the scenic terrain of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming en route to a finish line below the rugged Tetons at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Hundreds Tackled the Gigantic Mt. Palomar in 5th Annual Giro Di San Diego
 
Gran Fondo included over 10,000 feet of climbing and the south grade of Palomar Mountain served as the KOM/QOM. Southern California met Italy at the 5th Annual Giro di San Diego Gran Fondo, a celebration of cycling, food, and San Diegos North Coast. There was something for everyone, with five different cycling events, including mountain bike courses of 10 and 30 miles and three road riding options: 38, 65, and 105 miles. 6th Annual Passport to Pain on Vashon Island
 
On Saturday, September 10, 2016 in beautiful weather, hundreds of cyclists from all over the U.S. made the journey to Washington state for the vertically challenging but fun 6th Annual Passport to Pain cycle challenge. Despite 10,000 vertical feet to climb, P2P organizers prided themselves on making the experience feel like a party on wheels. A dedicated team of event staffers regaled riders at each of the 18 checkpoints. Wearing outlandish costumes and providing comedic relief, they stood at the ready to collect clothing, stamp passports and provide refreshments. Whether riders complete the Idiot, the Weasel, or the Weenie, they all combined for a fun-filled party waiting for them at the finish line and an over-the-top pile of BBQ to devour.
