Stage 5

At 124 kilometres, the 5th stage of the 2017 Dubai Tour is entirely played out within the perimeters of Dubai City. Expect the sprinters to detonate the fireworks one last time.

In recent editions the Dubai Tour featured four stages, but the 2017 edition has five, so that’s one more chance for the fast men to take time bonuses.

In 2015 and in 2016 two sprinters powered to glory in the last stage – in successive order, Cavendish and Kittel -, thus restoring lossed time on the Hatta Dam and taking the overall win. We can expect a battle for time bonuses in 2017 also, both in the intermediate sprints and at the finish.

The closing stage is a criterium within the perimetres of Dubai City. As always, the race leaves from Dubai Marine Club, while the finish is at the Dubai City Walk. This is a huge shopping mall at the intersection of Al Wasl and Al Safa Road.

Stage 5 of the Dubai Tour comes with time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds on the finish line, while the intermediate sprints – after 73.1 and 97 kilometres – bring 3, 2 and 1 second each.

The stage starts at 12:35 and the finish is expected around 15:20, both local times.
