Stage 2

Sunday July 02 2017 - Düsseldorf to Liège - 202km Flat

Stage 2 in the Tour de France leaves from Düsseldorf to head to Liège in Belgium. In 2012 the Grand Depart was in the Walloon town.

In 2012, the Tour de France started with a prologue. Fabian Cancellara powered to the win, besting Bradley Wiggins by 6 seconds.

Albeit the finish line is on Belgian soil, the major part of stage 2 is played out in Germany. The finish is at the Boulevard de la Sauvenière in Liège and chances are the race will boil down to a bunch sprint.

The first three riders on the line take time bonuses at 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
