Potential Dates for Jingle Cross 2018 Released

Race Director John Meehan and his crew of volunteers have announced tentative dates for the 2018 Jingle Cross

Potential dates are September 28th-30th or November 16th-18th, 2018.

"We are looking at options," said Meehan. "Our amazing volunteers and organizing team put on one of the best organized World Cups ever and we had a ton of fun. But it is also a ton of work. We are considering another World Cup for 2018 in which case we may bid for the weekend of September 28th-30th. Otherwise, we will return to our usual time in November and occupy the November 16th-18th weekend."

This year's event included a Beers & Gears festival that took place at the Johnson County Fairgrounds south of Iowa City, whilst the Cyclo-cross races took place and continued until the Telenet UCI women’s and men’s World Cup races on the Sunday.

“This was our fourth year partnering with Jingle Cross, and it’s an absolute perfect fit,” says Paul DeVries, market manager for Deschutes Brewery. “The people who love our beers are the same people who love cyclo-cross, live music, and having fun where it is all in the same place at the same time.”

The Deschutes Beers & Gears beer garden included live music the whole weekend. Featured beers included Twilight Summer Ale and Decathletes Desire, which are only produced at Deschutes Brewery’s Portland and Bend, Oregon, pubs. Other varieties on tap will include Fresh Squeezed IPA, Pacific Wonderland Lager, Hopzeit Autumn IPA, and Deschutes’ newest brew, American Wheat Ale.

The weekend features both a road fondo and gravel fondo for cycling enthusiasts.

The final 2018 dates  will be confirmed shortly.
