“Our 10th running of the Crusher in the Tushar is a year late, but so much greater than I ever could have imagined it when I started back in 2010,” said Burke Swindlehurst, founder and event director of Crusher in the Tushar. “The way the event has grown without losing the challenge that I envisioned way back when. Now with Life Time’s support, I’m really making good on my vision of sharing the beauty of this special place, while also giving back to my hometown and community. Congrats to the honchos who won today—Sofia and Peter—and everyone who tested their fitness and grit to crush the Crusher!”

Life Time finishes the gravel season with a trio of new events in October and November. The Rad Dirt Fest, Oct. 2-3, just announced this spring, brings gravel to an epic high-desert course in the Spanish Peaks and around the eclectic southwestern town of Trinidad, Colo. Big Sugar NWA Gravel will be held on Oct. 23 in Bentonville, Ark. This event takes racers through the ‘highs and hollows’ of northwest Arkansas and will surely not disappoint those who’ve previously enjoyed a Life Time gravel event.

For those not interested in racing, the Life Time Rideaway Zion closes the season just down the road from the Crusher in the Tushar’s Beaver-based course. This camp, held in Hurricane, Utah, offers three days of gravel riding, Nov. 11-14. Life Time Rideaway camps offer the ultimate introduction to gravel riding, while the Zion event offers a chance to glean insight and instruction from Crusher in the Tushar founder, promoter, and former professional rider Burke ‘T-bird’ Swindlehurst who will be on hand as one of the ride’s guides.
